The village was incorporated in 1958.
RecreationBoth the Lake Zurich Park and Recreation Department and Buffalo Grove Park District serve the village's residents at an additional non-resident fee. There are many golf courses in the surrounding area, as well as riding stables. The private Farmington Bath & Tennis Club is located within the village.
SchoolsLake Zurich Unit School District #95, Kildeer-Countryside Elementary School District #96, and Adlai E. Stevenson High School District #125 serve Kildeer. Students living in the eastern portion of the Village attend District #96 for grade school and District #125 for high school. District #96 has an enrollment of 3,644 students and District #125 has an enrollment of 5,360 students. Students living in the western portion of the village attend District #95 schools, which include grades K-12 and have an enrollment of 5,769. There are several parochial schools in the surrounding area.
HousingKildeer is comprised of single family houses on one to three acre sites. The 2000 median house value was $459,600 and median rent cost was $775. (U.S. Census Bureau, 2000)
Government ServicesFire protection is provided by either the Lake Zurich or Long Grove Fire Departments. Kildeer Police Department has 19 sworn officers with police services contracted to the Village of Deer Park.
TransportationResidents can access Metra commuter rail service in either Barrington or Palatine. The village is located within 10 miles of both Interstate 94 and Interstate 90.
